IRSE announces the 35th edition of CuriosiFVG 2023, International Experience in Friuli Venezia Giulia, from the 14th to the 25th of June 2023.

CuriosiFVG 2023 is the occasion to discover Friuli Venezia Giulia, a charming Italian region bounded by spectacular mountains and the Adriatic Sea, together with other people between 20 and 35 years old coming from all around Europe!

From cities to little villages, tasting local food and wine, visiting craftshops and markets, but also experiencing nature and wildlife, as well as traditions, cultural events and concerts: an exciting 12 days programme (from 14th to 25th June 2023), packed with guided tours and experiences of sustainable slow tourism throughout Friuli Venezia Giulia, mixed with advanced training labs and workshops.

CuriosiFVG 2023 is also the occasion to learn from communication experts how to share your travel experiences through web and social media as a real professional: advanced training labs and workshops will give you the tools to boost your travel writing and social media skills, but also photography and video editing skills.

Last but not least... We have a secret, but don't tell anyone.😉 If you apply within April the 30th, CURIOSIFVG 2023 INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE, IS FOR FREE! All expenses will be entirely taken charge of by the host organization IRSE, with the support of Friuli Venezia Giulia Regional Government. Candidates who apply later, can be asked a participation fee of 200,00 euros.
 

GUIDELINES AND APPLICATION


WHO CAN APPLY

CuriosiFVG 2023 is addressed to students, recent graduates, or professionals between 20 and 35 years old – from EU and EEA countries (Italy included) – who have never been to Friuli Venezia Giulia before and who are involved / engaged / employed / or simply interested in the fields of tourism, travel, digital communication and marketing, international trade and cultural exchanges. Good English language level (at least B2/C1) and social media skills are also essential requirements.

ABOUT CURIOSIFVG 2023

The initiatives consists in an exciting 12 days program (from the 14th to the 25th of June 2023) of guided tours and experiences throughout the region Friuli Venezia Giulia, to discover:

  • cities and villages of artistic and historical interest
  • local food and wine, traditions and craftshops
  • nature and wildlife
  • cultural events, festivals and concerts

All of this always with an eye toward sustainable and slow tourism experiences.

Moreover, the initiative includes advanced training labs and workshops, held by experts and professors, around the issues of:

  • travel writing and storytelling techniques
  • travel content editing for social media
  • travel photography and video editing for web and social media
  • sustainable tourism design and new trends in tourism and travel

All activities will be held in English, also as an occasion for language training and intercultural exchange.

The participants will be asked to play the role of digital creators and storytellers of their FVG International Experience in their social media and/or blogs, as a way to promote the beauties of Friuli Venezia Giulia in their own Countries and among their friends all around Europe. They will be expected to create daily posts, reels and stories about their tours and experiences, under the hashtag #curiosifvg2023.

DETAILED PROGRAMME

Wednesday, 14th June 2023: Participants arrival in Pordenone (Friuli Venezia Giulia, Italy) and check-in to the hotel.

From the 15th to the 24th of June 2023: guided tours, experiences, labs and workshops. (read day by day programme here). The programme is to be followed in its entirety with activities taking place every day, including Saturdays and Sundays.

Sunday, 25th June 2023: Participants check-out and departure from Podenone.

ABOUT HOST ORGANIZATION

The organization of the whole experience has been entrusted to The Regional Institute for European Studies (IRSE), a non profit Cultural Organization (legal entity), with its seat in Pordenone (Friuli Venezia Giulia, Italy). IRSE offers since 1972 a variety of courses, seminars and workshops to promote european culture and active citizenship, especially among young people. IRSE initiatives cover the following fields: Language and Intercultural learning, European history and politics, Economic culture, Science and Society. The Institute also organizes international workshops and cultural exchanges for young European citizens, students, professionals or volunteers, around the issue of sustainable tourism management. Moreover, exchanges of European young people and experiences abroad are widely promoted and organised by “ScopriEuropa” – IRSE Information Office.
The Friuli Venezia Giulia regional government has been supporting IRSE since 1972, for its dedication in promoting European values, life long learning education and young people professional growth.
The Institute has teaching rooms with the latest technological equipment, WI-FI areas, reading areas, an auditorium, a self-service canteen, a library and a video library, an art gallery and a coffee shop, free bikes to move around the city.

EXPENSES

If you apply within April the 30th, CURIOSIFVG 2023 INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE, IS FOR FREE.
All expensesexcept travel expenses from the participants' countries to Pordenone (Italy) and back*** - will be entirely taken charge of by the host organization IRSE (The Regional Institute for European Studies of Friuli Venezia Giulia) with the support of Friuli Venezia Giulia Regional Government and consist of: board and lodging in Pordenone (Hotel accomodation), daily trips and transports, guided tours and experiences, food and wine tastings, tickets for museums, concerts and cultural events, training labs/workshops. Candidates who apply later than April the 30th, can be asked a participation fee of 200,00 euros.

HEALTH ASSISTANCE AND VISA

Health assistance: all participants must be in possession of the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), or a similar health insurance policy.
Visa regulations: if requested for their countries, selected participant must apply to the Consular Italian Authority for a Visa. IRSE will provide necessary documentation upon request.

DEADLINE AND PARTICIPANTS SELECTION

Deadline to apply is Sunday, 30th of April 2023.
A group of 20 participants will be carefully selected on the basis of their motivation and cv.
Acceptance will be notified to candidates before the 15th of May 2023.
