The 28th edition of the competition "VideoCinema&Scuola", organized by Centro Iniziative Culturali Pordenone is nearing its deadline. In fact, participants will have to send their works to Via Concordia 7, Pordenone, by Saturday 17 March 2012.
As of this year a new website www.videocinemaescuola.it is available, containing necessary and useful information about the competition, where award winners of previous editions can be seen, as well as short films, video clips and promotional videos (spots) created and directed in Italian schools from Trieste to Palermo, from Turin to Bari.
The award-winning videos from last year’s competition are also to be found on the website. To potential participants, or people who are simply curious, these give an excellent idea of the topics students chose and presented, and which of these were most involving.
Many prizes will be awarded in this 2011-2012 edition for the numerous themes proposed. The special prize of €1.000 offered by CICP (Centro Iniziative Culturali Pordenone) will go to university students inspired by the title “Youth, Art and the City”. The other special prizes are: from the Fondazione CRUP for “Youth and Innovation”; from the Provincia di Pordenone for a video which promotes an area - “Discovering Itineraries: History, Nature, Hospitality”; from Caritas Pordenone, for a promotional video (spot) or a video which describes an actual volunteer experience in the volunteer’s home territory; the Photography Award from the Banca Popolare FriulAdria, for a work showing particular attention to the photography; the Music-Imagery Award, for a work which shows outstanding quality in the choice of soundtrack (possibly original) and its appropriateness to the imagery; the Best Acting Award, for a work in which individuals or groups show particular care in the expression of body movement, diction and sensitivity towards their role.
The examining board, made up of experts in teaching methods and multimedia languages, will award extra prizes at their discretion. The award ceremony will take place at 10am on Sunday 29 April 2012, at the Centro Culturale Casa A. Zanussi di Pordenone.
